Vortex Flow Meter
Sierra Vortex Flow Meter is ideal for saturated or superheated steam, gas and liquids.
It measures and has outputs for Mass flow rate; Volumetric flow rate; Temperature; Pressure and Density.
Accuracies are typically: ±0.1% to ±0.2% of reading and the turn down ratio is typically 30:1. Both Vortex meters and Thermal meters are available in full bore and insertion models.
Sierra was the first to introduce multivariable mass vortex flow meters to the market in the late 1990s with the InnovaMass “S-Series” product line–the 240S and 241S. The InnovaMass 240S inline version is a true workhorse in applications ranging from large pipes and ducts, to high pressure and saturated or superheated steam. The InnovaMass 241S is manufactured as a volumetric only version or a multivariable version.
Product Benefits
- Mass & Volumetric flow monitoring of most gases, liquids and steam.
- Measures five process variables with one process connection: Mass flow rate – Volumetric flow rate – Temperature – Pressure – Fluid density.
- Rugged, long-lasting design for the toughest applications.
- Sensors located behind bluff body are well protected from pressure shocks and water hammer.
- Easy to Install, lots of field installation options.
- Loop-powered design simplifies wiring and signal processing.
- Fully field configurable field-configuration.
- Energy (BTU) Monitoring for real-time monitoring of energy consumption; compute and output energy use.
- Rangeable down to Reynold’s number of 5000.
- Field validation/configuration to assure operating performance.
- Flow totalizer and alarms
- Reduced installation cost and improved performance
- Reducer version eliminates the need for field-installed piping reductions
- An insertion probe version up to 72 inches (2 m) in length – 241S
- Reduce Costs with Just One Process Connection
Five-In-One: The multivariable version of the Sierra’s vortex flow meters allows one instrument and one process connection to measure five process parameters at the same time to simultaneously measure mass flow rate, temperature, pressure, volumetric flow rate, and fluid density.
